Archiclad’s Thomastown facility services a high-volume building materials supply chain in Melbourne’s north. With large quantities of oversized stock such as cladding sheets and full plasterboard packs moving through the site each day, their team required a storage system that provided reliable load-carrying capacity, safer handling processes and improved flow between the warehouse interior and external yard.

Archiclad also needed a solution that could operate effectively across two environments — weather-exposed outdoor storage and a busy indoor trade warehouse — while maintaining a professional, organised appearance throughout.

In consultation with Archiclad’s operations team, Emrack’s engineers produced CAD layout plans and a staging schedule so that the install occurred in phases — allowing the business to remain fully operational throughout the upgrade.

The Outcome

The completed installation has increased Archiclad’s usable storage capacity, creating a more efficient layout for both indoor and outdoor product handling. Long-length cladding and plasterboard materials can now be stored more safely and accessed more easily.

The new Cantilever Racking system has also elevated the overall presentation of the warehouse and yard, providing a cleaner, more organised environment that supports quicker picking times and reduced manual handling.

Emrack removed the outdated racking previously onsite and replaced it with a fully compliant, engineered system that meets current safety and performance standards.
